The video “Hugo Koblet: pédaleur de charme” (winner of the Giro d’Italia in 1950) - directed by Daniel Von Aarburg and produced by Maximage Filmproduktion GmbH (Switzerland) - was the winner to the second edition of the “BCN Sports Film - Barcellona International FICTS Festival”. The Festival - organised in the framework of the Worldwide Championship of Cinema and Sport Television “World FICTS Challenge” - by the Fundació Barcelona Olímpica in collaboration with Ajuntament de Barcelona Institut Barcelona Esport and Nikita Distribution - was finish with the delivery of the awards at the “Museu Olimpic i de l'Esport Joan Antoni Samaranch”. During the “Ward Ceremony” - to which were taken part prestigious personalities of sport and cinema - the FICTS president Prof. Franco Ascani was awarded with the “Excellence Guirlande d’Honneur” the President of the Spanish Olympic Committee Dr Alejandro Blanco.
Carme Mas, President of Federació Catalana de Ciclisme, on behalf of the winner film, took the “Amfora Ciutat de Barcelona” from Maite Fandos, Councillor at Ajuntament de Barcelona. “Special Award” of the Jury was delivered to the video “Nostalgia en la mesa 8 (Toma 78 - Argentina) directed by Andy Muschietti. The winners of the “BCN Sports Film - Barcellona International FICTS Festival” - chosen among 79 videos coming from 20 Countries - will participate to the Worldwide Selection that will take place to Milano (Italy) from 28th October - 2nd November. Success of participation and of contents has recorded the Workshop “Financing of sports programming: private and public sources” organised in collaboration with ESPN Emea (coordinator Esther Calatayud, organizer Barbara Destefanis). The 23 people present to the itinerant Workshop - to which were taken part qualified personalities of the cinema and sport field - have focused on analysing the different potential sources of financing (private or institutional) available to producers, look at the new opportunities and challenges brought about by the new technologies and learn more about the target audience of this type of product. The FICTS President Prof. Franco Ascani - in his introductive report - has focused, among the other, on the functioning of the market of cine-television rights, the procedures of bargaining rights, the impact of the new technologies, the request of “ready-made” contents, etc. (take a look the full report). The Workshop of Barcelona was the first of four appointments that will follow in Turkey (on 24th September) in the framework of the “1st Istanbul International FICTS Festival” organized by Can Saracoglu, with topic “Discovering a new market for the sports rights across Europe, Middle East, Asia”. The third in Italy (on 30th October) during “Sport Movies & Tv - Milano International FICTS Festival” where - in occasion of the FICTS Worldwide Congress- will be discussed the situation and proposals of the previous meetings and the last one in Qatar (on 12th November) with the analysis of the Programme for 2012 of the field.

The FICTS President Prof. Ascani - during his stay in Cataluña - has outlined together with Dr Juli Pernas Director of Fundació Barcelona Olímpica and the President of the Spanish Olympic Committee Dr Alejandro Blanco, the action lines of the next edition of “BCN Sports Film - Barcellona International FICTS Festival” that expected - among the other the celebration of “twenty-year loan” of Olympian Barcelona (1912 - 2012) and the “centenary” of the Spanish Olympic Committee that will be held in Madrid on 12th December 2012.
